NBA Trade Rumors: 10 players most likely to be moved by the deadline
By Kyle McKee
7. Bones Hyland, Denver Nuggets
On that same episode of the #this league uncut podcast mentioned earlier with OG Anunoby, when discussing Bones Hyland, Marc Stein stated:
"“there has been tension about playing time and there is concern on that coaching staff about his defensive deficiencies.”"
Chris Haynes went on to mention that a handful of teams have shown interest in acquiring Hyland, including the Charlotte Hornets and the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, Haynes noted that a deal between Denver and Minnesota involving Hyland would be unlikely due to the presence of former Denver team president Tim Connelly being in Minnesota.
Hyland wants to play more and be given a larger role, but Denver prefers to give more minutes to rookie wing Christian Braun.
It seems likely that Hyland gets moved before the deadline. In fact, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon went as far as to state on The Hoop Collective Podcast:
The biggest piece of evidence pointing to a Bones Hyland trade is that Hyland unfollowed the Nuggets and removed association with them from all of his socials. If a player unfollows the team, he plays for on socials that most likely means he/she doesn’t want to be there anymore.
