Golden State Warriors -losers

The hope was that the Golden State Warriors could add a difference-making big at the NBA Trade Deadline. In the end, they didn’t do that. And the two moves that they did end up making were actually quite peculiar. First, they traded James Wiseman in a multi-team trade that netted them five second-round picks.

And more than anything, this move alone makes the Warriors an NBA Trade Deadline loser. The fact that the Warriors had to trade a former No. 2 overall pick and that they could only recoup second-round picks for him is quite bad.

The Wiseman pick could go down as one of the worst moves in recent NBA draft history.

The Warriors also added Gary Payton II with those said second-round picks but it’s hard to look at what this team did at the trade deadline and not focus on the decision to throw win the towel on Wiseman as a prospect.
