If it wasn’t for the Phoenix Suns making the big move for Kevin Durant, the Dallas Mavericks would’ve been the headliners of the NBA Trade Deadline. Nevertheless, they are still one of the teams to keep an eye on in the Western Conference heading into the last couple of months of the season.

If Kyrie Irving can be a non-off-the-court story during the last few months of the season and into the playoffs, there’s a very real chance that the Mavs could emerge as a favorite in the West. But that’s a big “if.”

Second to Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving will likely be the most electric duo in the playoffs this season. If the Mavs can remain healthy, and if Kyrie and Luka can click as a duo, they’re going to be a problem.
