NBA Buyout Rumors: Reggie Jackson is signing with the Denver Nuggets and Terrence Ross is going to ink with the Phoenix Suns.

The NBA buyout market is in full swing with many veterans around the league finalizing agreements to be waived and join contenders for the stretch run. Two players have already reportedly agreed to join new teams after agreeing to buyout agreements over the weekend.

According to reports, Reggie Jackson is going to sign with the Denver Nuggets after securing a buyout from the Charlotte Hornets and Terrence Ross is going to join the Phoenix Suns for the remainder of the season after being bought out by the Orlando Magic.

Jackson should help the Nuggets as a backcourt option off the bench after they elected to trade Bone Hyland at the NBA Trade Deadline to the LA Clippers and Ross should help give the Suns some depth that they lost in the trade for Kevin Durant.

Either way, that’s all teams can ask for from the buyout market – a hope to solidify some of the team’s depth issues.

Other NBA buyout musings

Looking at some of the buyout options that are still out there, there’s still an opportunity for teams to make some additions. If Russell Westbrook does end up being bought out by the Utah Jazz (if that’s something he wants), it seems as if the Chicago Bulls are strong favorites to sign him. The Miami Heat is another team that has been lined to him with interest.

Veteran Danny Green is signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Will Barton is another player that is expected to receive plenty of interest on the buyout market. Patrick Beverley has also been waived by the Orlando Magic and should find a new team once he clears waivers.

And there could still be other buyout candidates that emerge over the next few days. As long as players are waived by March 1, they are eligible to sign with a playoff team.

Contenders that are looking to make one final addition before the push toward the playoffs will be taking a hard look at the players available over the next couple of weeks. Some decisions could be finalized soon like we’ve already seen with Green, Ross, and Jackson. But there could also be players that elect to take a more patient approach.

Either way, over the next week or so, the expectation is that the majority of the buyout market will be finalized.
