Kevin Love will stabilize the Miami Heat’s starting 5

The Miami Heat’s starting 5 has truly struggled this season. And specifically, the Heat has struggled to find a legit starting frontcourt partner for Bam Adebayo. After losing PJ Tucker during the offseason and not replacing him, the Heat tried to get by starting Caleb Martin. That didn’t exactly work out.

So when the Heat didn’t address the issue at the NBA Trade Deadline, it was met with much criticism. However, the addition of Kevin Love is almost as ideal as it gets for what the Heat is looking for considering their circumstances. There’s really not a better player than the Heat could’ve added than Love.

If the Heat wants, Love could help stabilize the team’s starting 5. He could give the team a legit option to start next to Bam at the power forward position. And not only does he give the Heat an option at the power forward position, but he’s the exact type of player that fits next to Bam. Love would be able to stretch the floor and give Bam the necessary room to operate in the paint.

Plus, inserting Love at the 4 would help get Martin back to a role and position that he’s likely much more comfortable with. It would be a win-win for the Heat from multiple perspectives.
