Miami Heat: 3 ways the addition of Kevin Love could fix the Heat
Kevin Love offers the necessary depth needed to the Miami Heat’s frontcourt
The addition of Kevin Love (and Cody Zeller) will give the Miami Heat some frontcourt depth that they simply didn’t have just a couple of weeks ago. And you can’t say that the team’s lack of depth up front didn’t hurt the team through the first few months of the season.
After the additions made by the team, the Heat will now be able to have a frontcourt rotation (at the power forward and center positions) of Kevin Love, Cody Zeller, Bam Adebayo, and Omer Yurtseven (who should make his season debut from injury after the All-Star break). That’s a pretty solid four players that they could rotate around, all while using smaller lineups if they want to too.
Whether they’re willing to admit it or not, the Heat were hurt by their like of size so far this season. And the fact that the team was able to add two quality veteran bigs at this point in the season could end up being huge for the team down the stretch.
It will be interesting to see what level of production Love and Zeller could give the Heat, but even just having that depth should help take some of the pressure off of some of the team’s other players that were constantly being forced to play out of position.
