The decisions to pay Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins could come back to haunt the team

One of the plagues that could end up haunting the Golden State Warriors is the fact that they have too much talent and not enough money to go around. And after paying Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins big money, this is a problem that the Warriors could run into over the next couple of offseasons.

The Warriors have big decisions to make regarding contract extensions for Draymond Green and Klay Thompson to make. Draymond can opt out of his contract after this season and Klay’s contract expires after next season. As much money as the team has tied up in their “core” of Stephen Curry, Wiggins, and Poole, I can’t imagine that the team will be able to pay both Klay and Draymond.

And losing one could mean ending up losing both. I’m sure this is a core that doesn’t want to break up but, as Draymond says, the writing could be on the wall.

If the end for the Warriors is around the corner, how can that not come back into question with a disappointing shooting in the playoffs? It has to be on the table or at least a possibility in the front office. Perhaps a rebuild could happen sooner rather than later in Golden State.
