3. Russ will help the PnR

The Clippers are in the middle of the pack when it comes to pick-and-roll frequency, however, they are very effective when they do run it. The addition of Westbrook should make LA’s PnR that much more dangerous.

The Clippers should be able to run a dangerous pick-and-roll with Westbrook and Ivica Zubac running the action, and then the likes of Leonard (38% 3P%), George (38.2% 3P%), Marcus Morris (38% 3P%), Norman Powell (41.7% 3P%), and Terrance Mann (39.2% 3P%) on the outside as dangerous catch and shoot options.

Even with the parts of his game that have fallen off, Westbrook is still athletic and likes to be aggressive. He should still be able to contribute a dangerous pick-and-roll option to the Clippers’ offense.

While there will likely be an adjustment period for the Clippers with Leonard and George adjusting to playing with Westbrook and vice versa, I think this is a move that should benefit both sides (the Clippers as they try to make a run in the playoffs, and Westbrook as he heads into free agency this offseason).
