Getting an update on when we could expect to see Stephen Curry (as he rehabs an injury) return to the lineup for the Golden State Warriors.

The defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors are running out of time. With just 23 games left in their regular season, it’s looking more and more like this season is going to be remembered as somewhat of a throwaway for the team. And a big part of that is due to injuries that have continued to decimate the team.

And one specifically came at a really unfortunate time. Just before the NBA All-Star break, Stephen Curry went down with a lower leg injury. He has already missed six games due to the ailment and the expectation is that he will at least miss a few more. The latest updates surrounding his injury say that he will be reevaluated by the team in one week. Though, the good news is that he has returned to individual, on-court workouts as his rehab process has evidently intensified.

We know that Curry will miss at least the next three games and possibly more. I would guess that the earliest we see Curry back in the lineup for the Warriors is next Thursday against the LA Clippers. However, even that seems somewhat of a pipe dream at this point.

The Golden State Warriors need to get hot if they want to make the playoffs

It’s officially “flip the switch” time for the Warriors. If this team wants to make a move up the Western Conference standings, they don’t have much room for error now. Currently, the Warriors are 10th in the West standings. But they’re just one game ahead of the 12th seed and just 1.5 games ahead of the 13th seed. All that said, they’re also just three games out of the 4th seed.

But if the Warriors are going to make any move up the West standings or solidify their standing as a playoff team, they’re going to need a healthy Curry. He’s the team’s best and most important player. And if he’s not healthy, the team isn’t going to have much of a shot in the postseason (even if they manage to get there without Curry).

And if the Warriors do end up missing the playoffs or losing in the Play-In Tournament, it could bring about bigger questions for this team’s big picture heading into the offseason.

The good news is that the expectation is that Curry returns at some point soon. The question is, will it be too late?
