1. Brandon Miller, Alabama
Assuming that Brandon Miller doesn’t fall into any legal issues – and quite frankly, right now, that’s not a given – he’s a player that many will be watching heading into the month of March. Again, this is about his basketball prowess and nothing else. For now, he is likely going to be the best player that is slated to participate in the NCAA Tournament.
Miller is beginning to separate himself in the 2023 NBA Draft class as the clear No. 3 prospect. From a simple basketball standpoint, he may be right there with Scoot Henderson (depending on who you ask). During his freshman season at Alabama, Miller is averaging 20 points and eight rebounds on 47 percent shooting from the field and 43 percent shooting from 3-point range.
At 6-foot-9, Miller has gotten some comparisons to Kevin Durant. Whether that’s fair or not remains to be seen but it just goes to show just how high of a ceiling he may have at the next level. While there may be questions about his off-the-court doings, when it comes to basketball, Miller is the real deal. And he’s a player you want to watch during the month of March.
