Ranking the five best remaining buyout candidates and free agents that are eligible to sign with a team in time for the NBA Playoffs.

The NBA Playoffs are still roughly six weeks away – it begins April 15 – but there are still teams that are hoping to sign a player or two ahead of the stretch run and the postseason. Now that the NBA Trade Deadline is officially in the books, signing a player off the street is the only way for teams to improve at this point in the season.

A few teams have already made some moves in solidifying their respective rosters via the free-agent market and there is still a handful that has yet to make such a move, but that would like to. But time could be running out on a final market of players that could be playoff eligible.

NBA free agents are eligible for playoff rosters if waived before March 1

Free agents that are looking to sign with a new team and still be eligible for the NBA Playoffs must have been waived before March 1. That means any players that are still in limbo with their current teams about a potential buyout still have a few days to figure out how their respective seasons are going to end.

With that being said, we look at the five best buyout candidates or free agents that are theoretically still available on the open market.
