3. Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose hasn’t played for the New York Knicks this calendar year but he has yet to negotiate a buyout agreement with the team. And while there’s no guarantee that he will be bought out, there are reports that it may not be completely off the table. And if he does hit free agency, the Phoenix Suns are one team that is keeping a close eye on him.

If Rose does hit the free agency market, I’d have to believe that there will be a strong market for him. Even though he hasn’t played much this season, he’s a veteran that many teams around the league would welcome. He’s one of the few former superstars in league history that have found comfort in embracing a much smaller role – and he’s excelled.

In just 26 appearances this season, Rose averaged six points on 39 percent shooting from the field. At 34 years old, he is at the backend point of his career. But perhaps he has one more postseason run left?
