Will the Los Angeles Lakers make the playoffs?
The Los Angeles Lakers may not have come away with a headlining name at the NBA Trade Deadline, but they did retool their roster around LeBron James and Anthony Davis. And the early returns are extremely encouraging. But it will be all in vain if the Lakers aren’t able to make the playoffs this season. It’s something that they have to do.
After missing the playoffs last season, I don’t think the Lakers want to do so again. You can’t waste away two years of LeBron’s carer like that. Or at least they shouldn’t want to. And that’s what they’d probably be remembered for most if they did. But with the moves the Lakers made at the trade deadline, they at least have some life.
I’m not sure if this team is good enough to make any noise in the playoffs, but the Lakers will at least have a puncher’s chance to do so. And I’m not sure that’s something we could firmly say about the Lakers just a few weeks ago.
