The Atlanta Hawks have already concluded their head coaching search and Quin Snyder was their guy from the start.

Superstars run the league. There is no reason to deny it. Earlier this season, there were whispers that Atlanta Hawks superstar guard Trae Young missed a game because of a spat with now-former head coach Nate McMillan. At that moment, it quickly became clear that perhaps there was something more there that deserved some attention.

Now, there is some clarity.

During the NBA All-Star break, it was reported that the Hawks had decided to move on from McMillan. Less than a week later, the Hawks have their new head coach in former Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder.

Quin Snyder was an easy choice for the Hawks

There was a reason the Hawks moved so quickly in their pursuit, maybe Young indicated this is the coach he preferred, or perhaps the Hawks were hearing Snyder would garner interest from other clubs in the off-season, further driving up his price tag.

Snyder was hired by the Jazz in June of 2014, he remained in Utah for eight seasons and secured a record of 372-264, over 100 games over .500. He also was critical in preparing Donovan Mitchell for his stellar season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

What Quin Snyder brings to the Hawks

Quin Snyder is very boisterous, the energy he is going to bring to the Hawks sideline should inject life into their team.

To be clear, when Snyder was let go from the Jazz it was not because he wasn’t doing a good job, it was because when a roster maxed out its potential, before blowing up the team, it’s better to get rid of the coach, before your superstars, in his eighth and final season in Utah, Snyder helped guide the Jazz to a 49-33 record, good for fifth in the Western Conference.

The Hawks will be in action at home on Tuesday evening facing off against the Washington Wizards. All indications point to this will be Snyder’s head coaching debut for Atlanta. How do you think Snyder will fit in with Young and Dejounte Murray? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
