Dwight Howard competed in a Taiwanese League 3-point contest and the video is too hypnotizing to not watch.

Dwight Howard will go down as one of the best centers to ever play in the NBA. He hasn’t played in the NBA this season and it appears that perhaps he has played his final minute for the Association. But that doesn’t mean his basketball career is entirely over. Dwight has spent this season playing in the Taiwanese League.

And recently, he participated in the Taiwanese League 3-point contest. You wouldn’t think of Dwight as a 3-point shooter – in fact, he only made 22 regular season 3’s and 1 in the postseason throughout his 18-year career in the NBA.

But Dwight is the big draw in the Taiwanese League and he did what any great ambassador of the game would do in another country that is trying to build its league, he was a willing participant. And even though Dwight didn’t win the competition, he wasn’t that bad. At least not as bad as you would’ve expected.

Here’s the video in which he scored 15 points in the 3-point contest:

This is actually more intriguing of a video than you would expect. And I kind of feel like this is something that the NBA could replicate. Not the 3-point contest itself because the NBA already has that. But perhaps a 3-point contest of just bigs.

At least on the surface, it would be intriguing to see how good of a shooter from deep they could be. And I think many fans would be surprised that even though most bigs don’t shoot 3’s during games, they are probably better at it than we would expect. Just as Dwight was in this showing.

Maybe the NBA should explore something like that and add it to All-Star weekend in the future. At the very least, it’s something the league should think about. Especially considering that they are now facing a potential issue with the All-Star Game and with the Dunk Contest losing its luster.

That will soon enough fall to the 3-point contest and the NBA will have to figure out a way to add more intrigue to it once again.

If nothing else, this video of Dwight shooting 3’s is pretty interesting. And it’s great to see that Dwight is doing some good work overseas. And you can’t help but wonder if we’ve seen the last of him in the NBA.
