The New York Knicks are trending in the right direction

More than anything, the biggest reason why you should believe that the New York Knicks could make some noise in the playoffs is based on the fact that they’re starting to play their best basketball of the season at just the right time. You never want your team to peak at the wrong time. You never want to peak at the all-star break or before. Instead, you want your team to be rounding into shape at that time, opening the door for a huge explosion in the playoffs.

That’s what we saw from the Boston Celtics last season in which their second-half-of-season momentum nearly landed them a championship. The Knicks may not be playing as well as the Celtics were last season at this time, but they are playing great. They’re beginning to peak just in time for the postseason.

The playoffs are roughly six weeks away and the Knicks are still improving. They have had a consistently top-10 offense and the one factor that could change everything for their team is if they can finish the year with a top-10 defense. If they can get there, all bets are off for this team.

I’m not sure how this season will ultimately end for the Knicks but this is a team that, if they catch a break or two, could end up making a run to the Eastern Conference Finals. That can’t be off the table for this team right now.
