1. San Antonio Spurs – Victor Wembanayma, Metropolitans 92

If the San Antonio Spurs do end up winning the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, there’s no question where they’re going to go with the selection – Victor Wembanyama. And, quite frankly, the Spurs would objectively be a great landing spot for such a young player with a high ceiling. And I’m not the only one saying that.

Victor would immediately add a level of interest and intrigue to the Spurs that they simply haven’t had since the days in which they were perennial championship contenders. If nothing else, Victor would give this organization the centerpiece building block that they’ve been searching for ever since they traded Kawhi Leonard away.

Whichever team drafts Victor will have a head start on nearly every other team that finds itself in a rebuilding stage. And with head coach Gregg Popovich hanging on recently with the Spurs, you can’t tell me you wouldn’t want to see how he’d help develop this generational of a draft prospect.
