29. Charlotte Hornets (via Denver) – Noah Clowney, F, Alabama

With a clear need in the frontcourt, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if the Charlotte Hornets elected to pick another player that could help on that front. One prospect that could be a worthy gamble for the Hornets with this late first-round pick is Noah Clowney.

Clowney, a 6-foot-10 freshman, is averaging 10 points and eight rebounds on 49 percent shooting from the field. He’s been a huge lift for the surging Crimson Tide this season.

30. LA Clippers (via Milwaukee) – Colby Jones, G, Xavier

With the final pick of the first round, the LA Clippers could take a player that is closer to contributing from day one rather than a player that they’re going to have to wait on development for. While that could be hard to find at this point in the draft, Colby Jones is a player that could fit that description.

Jones has played three years at the collegiate level and is averaging 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists on 52 percent shooting from the field and 41 percent shooting from 3-point range. He seems like a player that can contribute on some level initially for a team.
