NBA Mock Draft 3.0: Spurs land Victor Wembanyama; Raptors jump into top 5

4. Toronto Raptors – Amen Thompson, G, Overtime Elite

Honestly, it’s tough to predict how the Toronto Raptors are going to approach the offseason. However, if they do – somehow – jump into the top 5 of this year’s NBA Draft, it would be interesting to see if their approach changes at all. One player they could look to target is Amen Thompson.

With the uncertainty that is revolving around Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby, there’s a clear need for another big-time prospect. Landing with a top 5 pick, this is a gift from the basketball gods. And Thompson could be an excellent addition thanks to his playmaking ability and overall athleticism.

He is absolutely a raw talent and the Raptors would be betting on his potential, perhaps similarly to the way they did with Scottie Barnes two drafts ago. Thompson would add an interesting element to the Raptors’ offseason. Perhaps it may not happen, but if it did it could be incredibly fun.
