7. Indiana Pacers – Ausar Thompson, G, Overtime Elite
The Indiana Pacers are a team that has a solid foundation heading into next season. They’ve shown some real promise and appear to be one really good player away from being a legit playoff team in the Eastern Conference. Whether that team comes from the draft, free agency, or via trade, you can bet that the Pacers are going to explore every option.
In many NBA eyes, Ausar Thompson’s development is a bit behind his brother, Amen. However, over the last couple of months, you can make the argument that he’s successfully made a move up draft boards. So much so that there’s a very real chance that he could end up being taken in the top 10.
There were questions about Thompson’s shooting ability coming into this season. And while he hasn’t exactly put all those questions to bed, there is some hope that he can improve in that aspect of his offensive game. He has great size and athleticism as he heads to the NBA. Those attributes can’t be questioned.
