Ranking the nine-most disappointing teams of the 2022-23 NBA season in terms of how the team performed compared to their pre-season expectations.

With less than 20 games remaining for every NBA team in the regular season, most teams are what they are at this point. It’s hard to imagine that any team is going to significantly raise its ceiling heading into the playoffs.

In other words, this is the time of the year when teams (and fans) have a good indication of how their seasons are going tend. It’s also a good time to look back at teams’ pre-season expectations and compare them to how they’ve performed this year.

Where teams stand compared to their pre-season expectations

Based on that, it’s easy to see how a team might’ve fell short or exceeded expectations. And for many teams, this is a season that will be remembered, unfortunately, as a disappointment.

With just a handful of games of the regular season, we look back and rank the nine-most disappointing teams of the 2022-23 NBA season.
