1. Brooklyn Nets
Considering where the Brooklyn Nets started this season, this year will be remembered as a disappointing one for the team. Even though they were far from a unanimous contender, many did believe that the duo of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant and a strong supporting cast could make some noise in the Eastern Conference.
And it was beginning as if the Nets were going to pull it off at the midway point of the season. There was commentary that the Nets might be the best team in the league at that point. Then, it all went downhill. It started with an injury that sidelined Kevin Durant and then suddenly evolved into a Kyrie Irving trade demand just before the NBA Trade Deadline.
It all ended with the Nets trading both Kyre (to the Dallas Mavericks) and KD (to the Phoenix Suns). Now the Nets are just hoping that they can have a strong showing in the playoffs before they head into the offseason with some big decisions to make.
The Nets had it all and then had nothing. It’s a shame that the Kyrie-KD era in Brooklyn will be remembered as nothing more than a colossal disaster.
