Buy or sell the red-hot New York Knicks as dark horse title contenders in the Eastern Conference. 

A little over a month until the start of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, there are two teams in the Eastern Conference that seem to be playing their best basketball at just the right time. One of them is the Milwaukee Bucks, which is not that surprising. The other is the New York Knicks. And I’m not sure that’s something many would’ve predicted before the start of the season.

The Knicks are 21-9 since December 30 and have one of the best offenses in the sport. The team has won nine-straight games and has one of the easiest schedules in the league down the stretch. There’s a strong chance that New York will be playing their best basketball of the season heading into the playoffs.

The New York Knicks are playing their best basketball at the right time

The Knicks are currently fifth in the Eastern Conference standings but they’re just one game out of the fourth seed. With how New York has been playing over the last few months, it would not be all that surprising if they were hosting a first-round playoff series as the fourth seed.

The hype surrounding the Knicks has gained steam recently, even more so after they’ve managed to beat the Boston Celtics twice in the last week. The Knicks are here and are clearly playing at a high level. The question is, should they be considered a legit dark horse title contender in the East?
