Phoenix Suns (4) vs. Golden State Warriors (5)
Over the course of the next few weeks, the discussion around a possible first-round NBA Playoff matchup between the Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors should gain some serious steam. This is one of those matchups that you create in a lab that we, for one reason or another, never see come to fruition. However, with less than 20 regular-season games remaining, this is something that could realistically come to fruition.
And this matchup between the Suns and Warriors would have it all. We have the Chris Paul vs. Stephen Curry matchup at the point guard position, the Dramond Green vs. Deandre Ayton battle in the frontcourt, and the Kevin Durant/Devin Booker vs. Andrew Wiggins/Klay Thompson on the wing. Not to mention that the Warriors will be trying to play their way into respect after such an inconsistent regular season.
A possible Suns-Warriors matchup would have the star power that you would expect in a Western Conference Finals or even an NBA Finals. But it’d be in the first round. What more could you ask for in a potential playoff matchup?
