5. Ausar Thompson, G, Overtime Elite

Best team fit: Charlotte Hornets

Because of his athleticism and size, there’s a strong chance that Ausar Thompson is going to continue to rise up NBA Draft boards leading up to the NBA Draft. He isn’t as complete of a prospect that his brother Amen is, but Ausar will likely be a top 10 pick (and possibly a top 15 pick) in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Like his brother, Ausar is supremely athletic. And it’s one of the things that jumps off the screen first when watching him play. He’s a great defender as well, perhaps a bit better than his brother at this point in their development. Ausar also struggles with his shooting efficiency and it’s something that he’ll have to prove he can do once the pre-draft workouts begin.

Ausar isn’t the lead guard prospect that his brother is, but is a capable playmaker. And it’ll be interesting to see what position he gravitates to when he enters the league. There’s still much to be settled when it comes to where Thompson will land, but the Charlotte Hornets could be a good landing spot, next to LaMelo Ball.
