NBA Draft: 10 must-watch prospects in the 2023 NCAA Tournament
By Tyler Hurst
9. Kris Murray – Iowa
Kris Murray, the brother of current NBA rookie Keegan Murray of the Sacramento Kings, has had a solid junior year averaging 20.4 PPG and roughly eight rebounds on 48.4 percent from the floor.
Murray is an exceptional 3-and-D prospect who doesn’t require many shots to get his numbers. His three-point shooting has gone down slightly this year shooting only 33.9 percent from deep, but that will likely go back up once he enters the league and finds more open looks.
Murray works great in the flow of an offense and will complement any team he plays for with great court vision and an ability to set good screens. He is also a versatile defender as the cherry on top.
The only downside is that Murray will turn 23 before the beginning of his rookie year. That might turn some teams off, but he is still a great prospect that a team should certainly take a chance on.
Murray and the Hawkeyes tip-off against Auburn at 5:50 pm on Thursday, March 16.
