NBA Draft: 10 must-watch prospects in the 2023 NCAA Tournament
By Tyler Hurst
10. Kyle Filipowski – Duke
Duke has an exceptional amount of potential NBA talent but we’re going to highlight Kyle Filipowski due to his dominant stretch over the past few games. For a big man, Filipowski is one of the best playmakers/creators in this year’s draft. He thrives just as well in pick-and-roll actions as he does with dribble handoffs, and you are extremely unlikely to see him make the wrong decision.
Filipowski is also a capable ball handler who can create his own shot in the post with an array of fancy footwork and baby hooks. Additionally, he has proved to be a capable three-point shooter, albeit inconsistent, and has shown flashes of the stretch 4 he could become in the NBA.
The Duke freshman isn’t quite as talented on the defensive end and has shown a lack of ability to be an elite rim protector. That will surely have to change later on, but for now, it’s fun to watch him execute the Blue Devils’ offense.
Filipowski and Duke tip-off against Oral Roberts at 6:10 pm on Thursday, March 16.
