NBA Trade Rumors: 5 teams that should try to pry Jimmy Butler away from Heat
NBA Trade Rumors: Heading into the offseason, we explore five teams that should take the chance and try to make a move for Jimmy Butler.
The Miami Heat has had an inconsistent season that has the team falling short of even the fairest of expectations before the year. The Heat will likely have to play their way into the playoffs for a chance to lose in the first round to a much better team.
It’s been such a mess of a season that the entire build in Miami has to be in jeopardy. It’s come to the point where the Heat has to seriously wonder if they want to continue to go down this path with Jimmy Butler.
The Miami Heat could be open to trading Jimmy Butler during the offseason
The Heat has some big questions to answer during the offseason. There are questions about whether this build is even close to winning a title and if the front office comes to the realization that they are better off retooling around Bam Adebayo, trading Jimmy has to be on the table. If so, it could make for an interesting market.
Let’s explore five teams that should be open to trying to trade for Jimmy (if the Heat makes him available) during the offseason.
Denver Nuggets
Heading into the postseason as the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets are a team that is going to be facing some real pressure for the first time in the Nikola Jokic build. There are expectations attached to the Nuggets for the first time in a long time and if they fail to make a deep playoff run, there will be some big questions to answer during the offseason.
And if they do still feel like they are a star away from competing for a championship, perhaps Jimmy Butler could be somewhat of a quick-fix target for the team heading into next season. He would improve their defense automatically and give this team a lead man on the wing that could help take some of the pressure off of Jokic and Jamal Murray.
It may be a strange fit for Jimmy to land in Denver but it’s a move that may be considered if the Nuggets fall short in the playoffs.
