2. Orlando Magic – Scoot Henderson, G, G League Ignite

The Orlando Magic would love to land one of the top 2 picks in this year’s NBA Draft. In fact, I think you can probably say that about every team in the lottery. But especially for the Magic would very much benefit from adding the best guard prospect from this year’s NBA Draft class. While there are some whispers that Scoot Henderson could be falling down some draft boards, I still firmly believe that he’s still the consensus No. 2 pick for now.

Henderson would be exactly what the Magic needs in the way of a leader in the backcourt. He would also give the team a certified possible second star to stick next to Paolo Banchero, who has been quite promising during his rookie season in Orlando. He’s far from the slam dunk prospect that Victor Wembanyama is, but Henderson is still really good.

There’s an argument to be made that in any other NBA Draft, Henderson is probably drafted No. 1 overall. Nevertheless, getting Henderson at No. 2 would be a great development for a Magic team that is looking to take the next step in its development as a franchise. At least for now, Henderson seems somewhat of a lock at No. 2.
