NBA Mock Draft 4.0: Bulls land a new face of the franchise; Lakers make a trade
27. Charlotte Hornets (via Denver) – Terquavion Smith, G, NC State
The Charlotte Hornets may be settled at the point guard position with LaMelo Ball but there is one interesting guard prospect that I believe is talented enough to be a late first-round pick. Terquavion Smith is somewhat of a limited prospect but he is an absolute weapon on the offensive end of the floor.
During his sophomore season, he took another step forward offensively and averaged 18 points per game on 34 percent shooting from 3-point range. The question is, do enough scouts believe he can be a difference-maker at the next level?
28. Utah Jazz (via Philadelphia) – Ricky Council IV, F, Arkansas
The Utah Jazz could end up taking a flyer on a prospect such as Ricky Council IV. He’s a wing that would add to this team’s depth at that position and a player that could have the potential to develop into something more for the team down the line.
Council is coming off a season in which he averaged 16 points and four rebounds on 44 percent shooting from the field during his junior season. He’s improved every season that he’s played at the collegiate level and appears ready for the jump to the pros.
