NBA Trade Rumors: As we inch closer to the end of the season, we explore four teams that should reverse course this offseason and hit the reset button.

The NBA regular season is quickly coming to a close. And as is the case every season, there are going to be a handful of teams that end up with quite the sour taste in their mouth – whether that’s to a simple disappointing end of the season or something that roots much deeper than just an early playoff exit.

And the offseason will give many of those teams the opportunity to reverse the course of their current plan and possibly hit the reset button (whether by necessity or being forced into it). With the end of the year in sight, let’s explore four teams that absolutely fall into that criteria heading into the offseason.

Washington Wizards

You have to credit the Washington Wizards. Since the departure of John Wall, the team has tried to make things work with Bradley Beal. It simply has not. And the team’s current plan of continuing to surround Beal by re-signing both Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma is, with all due respect, not the plan that is going to get the Wizards out of NBA purgatory.

This is a team that desperately needs to hit the reset button and that likely means trading Beal and starting over. Will this finally be the offseason where they finally pull the trigger? I’m not sure but there’s no question that it probably should be. But if they did get to the point where they’d be open to trading Beal, there’s no question that there would be plenty of teams interested.

And the potential haul of making such a move could end up being worth it.
