Miami Heat
Heading into the offseason, no matter how their season ends, it’s become abundantly clear that the Miami Heat needs to explore some changes to their roster. And there’s a strong argument to be made that this team needs to seriously consider a complete reset to the blueprint. Even with as many big names and veteran talent as this team has, it has to be quite jarring that they’re currently a fringe playoff team in the Eastern Conference right now.
What has made it all worse is the fact that Jimmy Butler is having one of the most offensively efficient seasons of his career and it hasn’t even mattered. The Heat is not good enough and this front office has to know it. There have to be some changes this offseason.
Whatever the plan was before the season clearly didn’t work. It would be insane if the Heat didn’t change courses this offseason. The big question is what exactly does that mean for the franchise? Does that mean completely scratching the Jimmy build? Does that mean trading every player on the roster not named Jimmy and Bam Adebayo? Who knows.
But one thing is clear, the offseason could prove to be an interesting one for the Heat.
