Sacramento Kings

The fact that no one seems to be talking about the Sacramento Kings being a serious contender to make a deep playoff run, let alone win the Western Conference, is honestly not that surprising. But this is a team that seems to be playing its best basketball at just the right time. And for a talented team such as the Kings in what appears to be a wide-open West, that’s a dangerous combination.

I’m not willing to stick out my neck completely out to say that the Kings are going to win the West but I also don’t believe it’s fair to completely count them out. The Kings could very well finish as the second seed in the West heading into the playoffs. They have the best offense in basketball and a top-10 net rating.

Since January 8, the Kings have the third-best record in the NBA (23-9) and the fourth-best net rating. The Kings not only play one of the most exciting brands of basketball but a brand of basketball that has also proven to be successful, at least in the regular season.

I suppose the true test for the Kings awaits them in the postseason.
