How many more games do the Golden State Warriors realistically need to win to clinch the 6th seed in the Western Conference playoff picture?

With less than 10 games remaining in the regular season, the Golden State Warriors are clinging to the 6th seed in the Western Conference. The significance of that is that if the Warriors are able to hold onto that spot, they won’t have to play their way into the NBA Playoffs.

Due to their inconsistencies this season, the Warriors find themselves in an uphill battle to just make the playoffs. The only other time that the Warriors were in this position in the last eight years was when they were completely decimated by injuries.

Nevertheless, if something doesn’t change soon, the Warriors may very well find themselves in the Play-In Tournament. The Warriors are one of seven teams that are fighting for a spot in the playoffs, and ideally the 6th seed. But if they can’t begin to play better (and more consistent) basketball, winning the 6th seed may not even matter.

Can the Golden State Warriors flip the switch in the postseason?

As long as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green are available, the Warriors are going to have a chance to make some noise in the postseason. But even for the most optimistic of Warriors fans, this is a team that may be in over its head heading into the postseason.

If Golden State is going to have any chance to make some noise, there’s a very strong argument to make that they need to win the 6th seed. So, how do they go about doing it? Well, they must win more than they lose over the last few weeks of the season. Is that feasible? To answer that, let’s begin by digging into their remaining schedule.
