1. Phoenix Suns
The team that the Golden State Warriors and likely most teams in the Western Conference should not want to face in the NBA Playoffs is the Phoenix Suns. The Suns are not the No. 1 seed or even a top 3 seed, but they have the highest ceiling of any team in the conference. If Kevin Durant is healthy, there’s a very real chance that the Suns end up coming out of the West and representing the conference in the NBA Finals.
With Devin Booker and KD playing at the height of their powers, you can make an argument that there’s not another duo in the NBA that can go toe-to-toe with them. And the Warriors, at this point in their dynasty, aren’t in a position where they can outpower the Suns on the offensive end.
Could they do it defensively? Perhaps, but that seems like a tall task that this team shouldn’t be asking for. Especially not in the first round of the playoffs.
No matter who they match up with in the NBA Playoffs, it should prove to be an intriguing first-round series.
