3. San Antonio Spurs – Scoot Henderson, G, G League Ignite

Even though every team in the lottery will be aiming (or hoping) to land the No. 1 overall pick, this is a draft where, at the very least, you want one of the top 3 selections. And with the San Antonio Spurs checking in at No. 3, I feel like this is a great spot for Scoot Henderson to fall. If he is not taken with one of the top 2 picks, whoever selects him at No. 3 could be getting somewhat of a steal at this spot.

Henderson is a dynamic, athletic guard – the type that is thriving in the league right now. Henderson has superstar potential but is a bit less developed than Victor Wembanyama and Brandon Miller right now. Perhaps he could help change minds during the pre-draft process but that remains to be seen.

He didn’t have a huge breakout showing this season in the G League Ignite team and that hurt his stock just a bit. That said, let’s not get it twisted. Henderson has the chance to be a great player and he’d be a great “consolation” prize for any team that is picking at No. 2 or 3. Here, the Spurs get a quality developmental project that could end up evolving into the team’s new face of the franchise.
