The Bucks’ stellar bench

One of the biggest advantages the Milwaukee Bucks have is their superior bench play. They have one of the deepest benches in the league with Pat Connaughton, Grayson Allen, Jae Crowder, Joe Ingles, Bobby Portis Jevon Carter, and Wesley Matthews all contributing in their roles.

The Bucks fortified their bench by adding Goran Dragic and Meyers Leonard for the playoff run giving them two experienced veterans they can depend on if needed. Connaughton has found his niche as a versatile rotational bench player. He played a major part in helping the Bucks win the title back in 2021 averaging 9.2 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 44 percent from downtown in the Finals. He is also an explosive dunker and truly deserves more minutes in a crowded rotation.

Portis, who has become a fan favorite in Milwaukee and also a member of the 2021 championship team brings energy off the bench as a true 3-and-D player. His ability to crash the offensive glass and do the dirty work will be much needed again as the Bucks get prepared for another shot at a title.

Allen is somewhat of a menace and while other teams see him as a dirty player, he has been a welcomed addition in Milwaukee also. He is truly talented and can be a dangerous scorer if he gets hot. Adding Crowder to the roster meant adding a player with plenty of playoff experience. He has appeared in nine consecutive postseasons and has appeared in the Finals twice.

Crowder gives the Bucks another element of toughness and will be another weapon for Antetokounmpo to kick the ball out to if opponents try to clog the lane. He is a good 3-point shooter and an aggressive defender. His presence should truly make a difference if they have to face a team like the Celtics in the playoffs as he will more than likely be assigned to guard either Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown.

Ingles is a self-sufficient scorer who can create his own shot. He is a player with good footwork and is an elite-level shooter. Carter is an underrated player who is currently putting up career-highs in minutes, points, and rebounds. He has been a spark plug coming off the bench and should do the same in the playoffs.
