Whether they’re willing to believe it or not, there is a lot riding on this postseason run for the Philadelphia 76ers. If they don’t make a deep playoff run, there’s a good chance that this team will enter the offseason with the desire to make a big move. With the rumors surrounding James Harden’s future, would it be that surprising if the Sixers entered the offseason with the need of attracting another star to play with Joel Embiid?

I’m not saying that Harden is going to leave the Sixers this offseason but at this point, considering all that has been reported, would it be surprising if he did? I just want to ask, if you replaced Harden with Damian Lillard if the Sixers wouldn’t be more of a favorite to win the NBA Championship this season.

If Harden does want to leave and the Sixers would be able to add Lillard to this roster, it actually wouldn’t be the worst-case scenario. And, quite frankly, I believe that is a move that could end up working well for both Lillard and the Sixers.

There’s a great argument to make that Lillard is the perfect guard pairing for Joel Embiid at this point in his career.
