Damian Lillard – trade target

It should come as no surprise to see Damian Lillard atop this list. If he does in fact become available this offseason, he should be at the top of every team’s wishlist. And the Miami Heat would be no exception.

Lillard has said all the right things over the last few seasons about wanting to remain loyal to the Portland Trail Blazers but the writing is on the wall. The Blazers aren’t going anywhere and if Lillard wants to spend the last couple of years of his prime playing meaningful basketball, it will likely have to be somewhere else.

Could Lillard play out his career with the Blazers? Absolutely. And if that were to happen, I don’t think many of us should be surprised. However, if the Blazers did want to recoup some assets in exchange for Lillard, this would be the offseason to do so.

And if Lillard wants to win, this would be the summer for a change. And a trio of Lillard, Bam, and Jimmy would be in the conversation for the best trio in basketball. They would even possibly enter next season as the favorite.
