Looking toward the offseason, we explore four areas that the Charlotte Hornets need to address.

The Charlotte Hornets basketball team has been the definition of mediocracy since their readmittance to the league in the 2004-05 season (when they were the Charlotte Bobcats). Since that season, the Hornets/Bobcats have only made the playoffs three times and have no playoff series to show for it.

With a change in ownership continuing to be discussed, it’s beginning to look like Michael Jordan is going to become a minority owner while the new ownership group reportedly led by Gabe Plotkin and Richard Schnall will take majority ownership.

The most meaningful things Jordan has done for the Charlotte franchise was changing their name back to the Hornets and dropping the Bobcats title. Yes, Charlotte has a former Rookie of the Year award winner in Emeka Okafor in 2004, the Buzz city all-time leader in points Kemba Walker (with 12,009), and lucked into a generational talent LaMela Ball but outside of that, it has been rather quiet in the Queen City.

Let’s examine four areas the Hornets need to address this offseason. Let’s start on the sideline.
