Los Angeles Lakers
Just a few months ago, the Los Angeles Lakers were written off as a team that was likely going to be a first-round playoff exit (if that) or more than likely a lottery team. However, since the NBA Trade Deadline, the Lakers have the look of a much different team. This is a team that is rounding into shape and one that could be a handful for any favorite in the Western Conference heading into the playoffs.
And with LeBron James and Anthony Davis fully healthy heading into the postseason, this is a team that has the top-level talent and supporting cast (now after their moves at the trade deadline) to make some serious noise in the West.
Like many other dark horse contenders, the Lakers’ chances in the West will likely come down to how the bracket shakes out. If the Lakers do end up getting some favorable matchups, would it be all that surprising for this team to make a run in the playoffs?
The Lakers will need a lot of luck and the right matchups, but I do believe that this is a team that can make a run. That’s how much respect I have for LeBron and AD.
