NBA Mock Draft: 12 biggest risers and fallers from the NCAA Tournament
Cason Wallace – Rising
The Kentucky Wildcats only played in two games but to close their NCAA Tournament run, NBA Draft prospect Cason Wallace had a pretty impressive game. You can actually make the argument that Wallace’s performance in the second round against Kansas State was one of his best individual games of the season.
Wallace finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, and four assists per game on 9-11 shooting from the field. He also went 1-1 from 3-point range. Not to mention, he’s also considered one of the best backcourt defenders in the draft. As he likely makes the pivot to the NBA, Wallace has proven that he’s a worthy lottery pick. And I believe that he cemented that with this performance in the NCAA Tournament.
There is now an outside chance that Wallace could sneak into the top 10 heading into the 2023 NBA Draft. Wallace still has room to rise up draft boards heading into the last couple of months heading before the NBA Draft, but he’s in a great spot heading into the official pre-draft process.
He’s a name to keep an eye on in the 10-14 range. He could go higher depending on how the lottery ranking ends up shaking out.
