NBA Mock Draft: 12 biggest risers and fallers from the NCAA Tournament
Julian Strawther – Rising
As somewhat of a prospect that came out of left field, Julian Strawther is a player that has quickly emerged as someone that may end up being a first-round draft pick. During his junior season at Gonzaga, Strawther averaged 15 points and six rebounds on 41 percent shooting from 3-point range. He even had a big moment in the NCAA tournament in which he hit the game-winning shot to help send Gonzaga to the Elite Eight.
Overall, Strawther had a nice showing in the NCAA Tournament. He averaged 16 points and nine rebounds in the four games. If there was one area of concern for Strawther during his run with Gonzaga in the Tournament, it was his inconsistent shooting. He only shot 38 percent overall from the field.
With still another year of eligibility at Gonzaga, I’m not sure it’s a foregone conclusion that Strawther ends up declaring for the NBA. He could want to make another run at an NCAA Tournament Championship. But if he does elect to make the move to the NBA, I believe he’s done more than enough to warrant himself as a first-round draft pick.
