Noah Clowney – Slightly falling

With Brandon Miller garnering most of the headlines for the Alabama basketball program, Noah Clowney was somewhat of an overlooked prospect. Yet, he was still an important player for a team that many believed was going to win the NCAA Tournament Championship. As we know now, that didn’t happen. And partly because of that, Clowney saw his draft stock take a bit of a dip.

Like most Alabama players, Clowney didn’t have a great showing in the NCAA Tournament. The team as a whole left much to be desired and so did Clowny. He had a solid first game and then struggled during games two and three. In the final two games of his collegiate career, Clowney averaged four points on sub-20 percent shooting from the field. He also went 0-3 from 3-point range in both games.

I don’t think those two games will completely scare teams off from drafting Clowney in the late lottery but it will add some doubt to his prospects heading to the next level. Clowney is very much a project so perhaps his inconsistency shouldn’t be a surprise, but it will give something else for teams to think about leading up to the 2023 NBA Draft.
