NBA Trade Rumors: Exploring eight surprising names that might be in search of a fresh start this offseason.

We’re officially in the final week of the 2023 NBA regular season. The NBA Play-In Tournament begins next week and the NBA Playoffs officially begin next weekend. And while the playoffs will provide much entertainment and ultimately decide who this year’s champion will be, there will be plenty of teams and fans already looking toward the offseason.

As is the case every offseason, there will be an opportunity for some big changes this summer. And if last offseason was any indication of what we can expect over the next few months, we could be in for another chaotic transaction period in the Association.

With the NBA offseason just around the corner, let’s explore eight surprising names that could end up seeking a fresh start (via trade) for their careers this offseason.

Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers

It should be no surprise to see Damian Lillard on this list. He may perhaps be starting to change the tune on his willingness to leave Portland and it’s becoming clearer and clearer that the Blazers are inching closer to a full-blown rebuild.

Lillard is still playing at a very high level and deserves a legit chance to win a championship. Quite frankly, the Blazers are not in a position where they can offer that to Lillard right now. And I feel like both sides are beginning to come to that conclusion.

There’s a very real chance that Lillard ends up being the next big start to officially demand a trade. But he may not be the only one. He could just start an avalanche this offseason.
