Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

Jayson Tatum is one of the most talented players in the NBA. I don’t think there are many around the league that would argue against that. However, it seems like the one thing missing from considering him a truly accomplished superstar is a championship. And the Celtics have been close before. During his six years as a Celtic, Boston has made the conference finals four times. They’re 1-3 in those series and are 0-1 in the NBA Finals after last season’s run.

If Tatum would win a championship this season, there would be no denying his greatness. Despite his great talent and the fact that he plays for one of the most storied franchises in the NBA, Tatum could be viewed as one of the most overlooked stars in the league. I don’t think that would continue to be the case if he won a championship.

Tatum has been so close in the past that it would be painful if he never won a championship. This is a big postseason not just for the Celtics as a team overall, but also for Tatum and his legacy.
