Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns
Kevin Durant has had an interesting career. It all started in Oklahoma City Thunder when he was part of one of the most beloved young teams. Then, the front office decided to blow it up by trading James Harden. Shortly after, KD decided to sign with the Golden State Warriors where he would end up winning two NBA titles.
KD then left for Brooklyn where he was a disappointment alongside Kyrie Irving. Now, KD is back in the title picture alongside Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton with the Phoenix Suns. Even though KD won a couple of championships with the Warriors, I can’t help but wonder what a championship in Phoenix would mean for his legacy.
If KD can prove that he can win a championship for a non-super team, it would be interesting to see how the narrative around him would change. In theory, KD should be considered a top 10 player in NBA history. He was a generational talent when he entered the league and we still have not seen a player his size be able to move as well and score as seamlessly as he has throughout his career.
Maybe a championship with the Suns this season changes his entire legacy.
