LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers
LeBron James is not playing to be considered to be one of the all-time great NBA players. He’s already one of the NBA’s top 3 players, almost unanimously. But if he were to win another championship with the Los Angeles Lakers, a fifth overall, it would be almost impossible not to consider him arguably the best player to ever play the game of basketball.
There are many that would never consider LeBron to be the greatest, but that has more to do with their irrational infatuation with Michael Jordan than it has to do with LeBron or anything he has or hasn’t accomplished throughout his career.
LeBron may never be considered an all-time Lakers great but if he were to bring the city two titles, he would not only be a legendary Miami Heat player, not just a legendary Cleveland Cavaliers player but also a legendary Lakers player.
I’m not sure there are many players in NBA history that would have that level of resume. If LeBron gets a fifth NBA title, he may actually be the greatest to ever play in the Association.
