In the latest edition of our NBA Mock Draft, the Portland Trail Blazers jump into the top 3 and the Dallas Mavericks find Luka Doncic some help.

The NCAA Tournament is officially in the books and all the 2023 NBA Draft attention will now focus on the pre-draft process that is set to begin in the next few weeks. Soon enough, the NBA Draft Lottery will be here and we’ll get even more clarity on what we can expect on June 22.

For now, we explore the latest edition of our NBA Mock Draft which includes the Portland Trail Blazers getting a fortuitous bounce in our simulated lottery and the Dallas Mavericks rolling the dice with a trade.

The Dallas Mavericks make a trade for Mitchell Robinson

In an attempt to surround Luka Doncic with added help, I think it’s safe to say that the Mavericks could end up using their first-round pick on a player via trade. No matter what ends up happening with Kyrie Irving, it would be foolish if the Mavs didn’t try to make an upgrade to the roster.

And one player that the team could look to add with their first-round pick is New York Knicks big man Mitchell Robinson. He would immediately be a difference-maker for the team on the defensive end and could provide a different element that the team didn’t have this past season on the offensive end.

In this simulated NBA Mock Draft, the Mavs make a big move for the Knicks’ big man in an attempt to solidify the team’s defense and add another piece next to Luka.

1. Detroit Pistons – Victor Wembanyama, C, France

There is not much of a change here at No. 1. No matter who ends up with the gift of the No. 1 overall draft pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, the selection is going to be Victor Wembanyama. Short of something extremely unexpected happening, Victor is going to be the top pick.

The only true questions that remain are whether A) he’s going to workout for any team leading up to the pre-draft process and B) which team is going to end up with the No. 1 pick.
