Breaking down the first-round NBA Playoff series between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings, while offering a series prediction.

The Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings are heading into this first-round NBA playoff series in a manner that no one could’ve predicted. I don’t think anyone would’ve thought that the Warriors would be entering the playoffs as a 6 seed in the West after they won the championship last season. At the same rate, I don’t think many even though the Kings would be in the playoffs let all, let alone as a top 3 seed.

Nevertheless, the Warriors and Kings are slated to tip off their series in Sacramento this weekend.

The Kings are already a success this season but if they manage to pull off this first-round series win over the Warriors, it would be a huge accomplishment for the team moving forward.

In anticipation of this first-round matchup between the Kings and Warriors, we explore three bold predictions and make a series pick.

Bold prediction No. 1: Domantas Sabonis will dominate the Golden State Warriors

You can make the argument that behind Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid that Domantas Sabonis has been the third-best center in the league. He’s had that great of a season for the Kings. Heading into the playoffs, Sabonis is averaging 19 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists per game on 62 percent shooting from the field.

I predict that heading into this series with the Warriors, Sabonis will end up dominating the Warriors’ bigs. Draymond Green is not the defender that he once was and they don’t have much frontcourt depth beyond him. Sabonis is going to dominate the interior of the Warriors’ defense in this series.
